17/7/2015 Sydney Weather: Heavy Snowfalls across NSW

The wild weather and heavy snow storms has caused major traffic disruptions overnight for the Hume Highway, Great Western Highway and the Bells line road has been closed in places, leaving no way for our drivers to travel. The heavy snowfalls and freezing weather in areas of the state have had a significant effect on traffic, with queues of up to 30km on the Hume Highway south of Sydney and drivers were warned of lengthy delays.

There was no diversion in place for heavy vehicles.

The Hume Highway is now open but has caused very long delays for some of our line haul vehicles this morning. These delays are expected to continue and we will advise further information as we receive updates.

NEW SUPER B DOUBLE TRAILERS

Introduced into our Melbourne and Adelaide Depots are the new super B double combinations. These will provide the transportation of 2, 40’’ containers or 4, 20’’ containers or a combination of both.

Ultimately the introduction of the new combinations will reduce the number of journeys, reduce air/noise pollution and increase efficiency. Not only will the environment benefit but also traffic congestion.
