We currently have opportunities for MC linehaul drivers to join our friendly team in Forrestfield, WA.

These are full time opportunities, carting general palletised freight with your own allocated truck!

Most trips will run Perth to Adelaide with occasional Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane trips.

Forklift Operators (SA)

Cahill Transport is a national family owned transport and logistics business with a 71 year history. 

We’re seeking experienced forklift operators to join our busy team within our Direk, SA site. AM shifts are available, Monday to Friday.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced counterbalance forklift and hi-reach fork operator skilled with loading/unloading palletised freight from transport trailers and place pallets / picks in high rise racking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating a counterbalance forklift and hi-reach forklift.
  • Efficiently load/unload trucks and shipping containers.
  • Accurate and efficient pallet movements in high rise racking
  • RF scanning of pallet receipts and movements
  • Experienced with load restraint and weight distribution.
  • Manual handling (lifting up to 17kgs).
  • Stock rotation.
  • Picking/packing various types of freight and labelling pallets.
  • General cleaning duties of the warehouse and forklift.
  • 6am-2pm (with occasional overtime).

Competencies:

  • Current LF Forklift licence – essential.
  • Experience in Hi-Reach fork operation in 9m high racking – essential.

We’re seeking an experienced Yardperson who can demonstrate broad experience in road transport operations.

The role will support efficient and safe operations, providing support to the operations and warehouse teams. Based at our Huntingwood site, this is a full time position, Monday – Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support the loading/unloading/preparations of trailers.
  • Forklift driving.
  • Arranging and organising of local/interstate freight.
  • Moving and relocating equipment on site – up to Multi Combinations.
  • Occasional pick ups/deliveries to support local operations as required.
  • Ensure yard is continually clean and maintained.
  • Support the scheduling of equipment for servicing/maintenance.
  • Always adopting a safety-first work practice.
  • Maintain good working relationship with customers, co-workers and management.
  • Hours 1:00pm – 9:00pm / Monday – Friday (with occasional overtime).

Competencies:

  • Former experience within road transport – essential.
  • A current Forklift Licence – essential.

Senior Diesel Mechanic (QLD)

Cahill Transport is a growing national transport and logistics business with a history spanning 71 years. With a vast network across the country, we have an extensive fleet which includes approximately 300 trailers and 180 trucks.

We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced Senior Diesel Mechanic to join our dedicated workshop team. This is a full time, permanent position and will report to the QLD workshop supervisor.

The successful candidate will be highly skilled in working on Isuzu, DAF. Kenworth and Volvo and  bring a wealth of knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular servicing and maintenance. – A, B and C services.
  • Major engine and gear box repairs and rebuilds.
  • Trailer servicing, trailer annuals and repairs.
  • Ability to diagnose and rectify issues and defects.
  • Carrying out general repairs and modifications as required.
  • Inventory management of onsite spare parts.
  • Regular yard equipment audits.
  • Ensuring all fleet leaving site is roadworthy.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean workshop.
  • On call for local breakdowns.
  • High level customer service skills when communicating with external providers.
  • Mon-Fri (with occasional weekends).

Container Team Leader (VIC)

We are seeking an experienced Container Team Leader to join our dedicated container division within our Head Office site, Laverton North.

Reporting to the Container Allocator, this role will sit within a small, supportive and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and managing the daily operation.
  • Monitor Import/Export container activity.
  • Provide containers in accordance with customer requests.
  • Compile regular data and KPI’s regarding container fleet status.
  • Process booking requests efficiently.
  • Detailed knowledge and a strong commitment to the OH&S requirements of an operating container division.
  • Operate the reach stacker as and when required.– (Kalmar 45t, only 6 months old).
  • Stack 4 High.
  • Load and unload trucks including tipping skell.
  • Operate the sideloader as and when required.
  • Provide 2IC support to the Container Allocator and Container team members as and when required.
  • Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Ensure container control systems are maintained.
