We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced full-time linehaul allocator to join our VIC operations team, located at our Head Office site in Laverton North.
The ideal candidate will have robust experience of interstate networks, complex trailer combinations, mass LTL and load planning. This is a leadership role, best suited to someone with a strong focus on ensuring our people assets are valued, recognised and engaged.
Working with the existing team, this role is responsible for ensuring safe, effective, efficient and responsive service delivery. With a focus on operational performance, driver engagement, culture and compliance.
The Role:
- Outstanding relationship management – priority focus on driver teams.
- Rostering and managing drivers with effective proactive planning and communication.
- Ensure/support continuous initiatives to support driver welfare.
- Allocate fleet efficiently to run a reliable and profitable operation.
- Ensure maximum fleet utilisation.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple tasks and maintaining focus on priorities.
- Ensure compliance with Fatigue Management, Maintenance Management, Chain of Responsibility.
- Ensure compliance across integrated IT platforms.
- Maintain and manage asset audits.
- Proactively communicate freight status with customers with exceptional customer service.
- Monitor vehicles and trailers for servicing/repair/maintenance.
- Conduct regular toolbox meetings with interstate teams.
- Manage, investigate and report incidents/near misses in accordance with IMS/ICAM incident reporting procedure
- Manage/control contractor usage.
- Recognise unsafe behaviour and provide strong leadership with mentoring, support and guidance.
- Enhance our ‘Think Safe / Home Safe’ culture at all times.
- Assist in the development of Safety critical processes including the development of Safe Work Instructions, JSA and Work Permits.
- Manage Payroll submission
